This year I grew my first garden. I live at a friend's house, and he's planted the garden himself many times before, but was in Hawaii for most of Spring, so other than some directions from him over the phone and a little help turning dirt from my roommate, I did the whole thing myself. There are two areas of the yard where my friend had imported good soil a few years back. When I started, both were covered in grass and weeds, after several days of work, I was happier to see clean turned dirt then I'd ever thought possible. Right now the garden is at its peak. There is an eleven foot tall, thirty foot long row of beans, corn plants much taller than I am, a huge squash plant, baby watermellons and catalopes, and all four of my sunflowers are blooming :) (Garden Pictures) Its a great feeling to walk out into the jungly green and think that I made it happen.
